This essay takes a closer look at the important role that data plays in policymaking, as well as the data systems in place on state and federal levels that affect the laws and programs created for our children’s well being. This report details the steps taken in national data collection and analysis through the National Survey of Children’s Health, and how and why it should be expanded upon.
