First Focus

First Focus is working to ensure that there are no more stories such as that of 12 year old Deamonte Driver, whose uncared for toothache led to his death. This means ensuring access to oral health services for every child in America. First Focus was proud to support the expansion of CHIP to include a guaranteed dental benefit. We fought for the inclusion of oral health services as an essential benefit for children under national health reform. And we will continue our advocacy to strengthen laws allowing states to provide cost-sharing protections and dental-only supplemental coverage to ensure ever American child receives the oral health services they need.
